Andrew Evans, Full-Time Elder
Andrew is married to Gaynor and they have a daughter, Rosie, and a son, Tom. Andrew works full-time for Christ Church. He is also a trustee of the North West Partnership and assists with organizing the Northern Men's Convention.
Until August 2003 he worked for UCCF, the Christian Unions, as Staff Worker for the Liverpool area. He comes from Chester and his background is in law and charity fundraising.
As well as his family and Christ Church Andrew is passionate about cooking (and eating!) and reading all sorts of books. Steve Palframan, Full-Time Elder
Steve is married to Vanessa and they have three daughters, Grace, Anna and Elisse. Steve is a Geography graduate from Sheffield University who has worked for a local authority and also as a UCCF staff worker. From August 2003 - May 2006 Steve was Associate Pastor at Cheam Baptist Church and studied part-time at Oak Hill Theological College. He joined the staff team at Christ Church in June 2006 and is part of the leadership of the church plant in Aigburth (Aigburth Community Church). Ken Cowen
Ken is married to Kath and they have a daughter, Ffion. Ken is a director of Creative Training, a company which provides a range of training solutions for individuals and businesses. He was previously North West Team Leader for UCCF:thechristianunions. Kath, who comes originally from South Wales, is a primary school teacher and before that worked for Barclays Bank. Maurice McCracken
Maurice is originally from Northern Ireland. After three years studying in Oxford he spent a year working for a church in Exeter before moving to Lancaster and spending three years working for UCCF:thechristianunions. He moved to Liverpool in September 2003 and in September 2005 became UCCF's Relay Coordinator, responsible for training and supporting sixty recent graduates in a programme of discipleship. Jeremy Clark
Jeremy was brought up in Nepal and Cyprus. He is a graduate of Liverpool University where he studied medicine, and now works part-time as a General Practitioner. He gives the rest of his time to his responsibilities as an elder and helps to teach in small groups on the North West Partnership's Ministry Training Course.
Tom Askew
Tom and his wife, Naomi studied at Liverpool University and Tom is now working as a doctor on the Wirral. He is the most recent appointment to our eldership at Christ Church. Josh Probert
Josh is a missionary to his fellow trainee science teachers, having finally decided on a career path! Since moving to Christ Church in 2007, he has worked as a Christ Church Ministry Trainee, and spent nine months as a missionary to a city-centre McDonald's restaurant.
He grew up in beautiful North Wales, spent six months in India, and lived in Nottingham for three years before moving to Liverpool, where he hopes to remain for a little while yet.
He is currently our music deacon, and therefore can be found most Sundays in the band; or alternatively at the front of the tea queue, or talking in Scrubs quotes to Gary.
Lisa Ellis
Lisa moved to Liverpool in 2001 and has just finished a degree in Special Needs and Education Studies at Liverpool Hope University. She now works as a Teaching Assistant at a Primary School in Wavertree.
In her spare time she can be found either playing Ultimate Frisbee or with a cup of tea in her hand Martin Gilmour
Martin moved to Liverpool as a student and now works for a small firm of Chartered Accountants in the city. He helps out with the bookkeeping side of the church finances and thinks the best thing about Christ Church is that it's a place where people from a number of different backgrounds come together to hear the bible taught clearly and faithfully.
Chris Gregory
Chris works as a Haematology Registrar in the Mersey region and married Helen in 2004. Helen is completing training for General Practice. They have been coming to Christ Church Liverpool since it first started in 2003 and Chris became an Elder in Feb 2009.

Biog goes here. Hazel Jacobs
Hazel moved to Liverpool in 2000 and works as a diagnostic radiographer at Aintree Hospital. She has been at Christ church since it started up, and now serves as one of the deacons. Hazel lives in Wavertree and shares a house with friends.
Dave Monk
Dave is married to Ann, who is a finance manager. They have two children, Nathan and Jacob. Dave is self-employed and runs his own advertising company called "Monkey Business".
Naomi Grindey
Naomi moved to Liverpool as a student in 2002. She has been a ministry trainee for Christ Church and is now deacon responsible for music. Naomi enjoys playing drums and piano and singing, but struggles with getting places on time, and replying to texts and emails. She currently works in a lab playing with chemicals, and is married to Rich who works for a children's charity and plays guitar. Peter Roberts
Peter is a local lad, but moved permanently to Liverpool to study Pharmacology at Uni. He currently works as a biology teacher at a boys school in south Liverpool, opening their eyes to the wonders of creation (or something like that!). He loves all sports and is an active member of Liverpool’s Ultimate team. If he could have any super power, he would like to be able to stop time. Peter coordinates the kids work for Christ Church.
Peter Roberts, Assistant Pastor
Peter joined the staff team in September as the assistant pastor. Previously he worked as a biology teacher at a boys school in south Liverpool, opening their eyes to the wonders of creation (or something like that!). Kath Knapman, Women's Worker
Kath comes from Southport. After doing a degree at Lancaster University she spent two years working with the Christian Union at Liverpool Hope University College. She then studied nursing at Liverpool John Moores University. Kath works part time at the Royal Liverpool Hospital as an orthopaedic nurse and part time for Christ Church as our women's pastoral worker. Nghia Ton, Administrator
Nghia was born in Vietnam, and as a result of various moves ended up in Liverpool to study Pharmacology. With thanks to many friends in both the Christian Union and Christ Church Liverpool he came to understand who Jesus was. He became a Christian when he realised the unconditional love of God through the cross was given freely to him.
Nghia now works as the Church Administrator and a Freelance fashion designer. Rachel Logan
Rachel was born in Lancashire, but then moved to Oxford. She returned to the north in 2005 to study Zoology at Liverpool John Moores University. She has recently graduated and got married to Alex and is taking a year out to be a ministry trainee at Christ Church. Rachel enjoys watching football, particularly Liverpool, and a good book. Helen Armstrong
Helen grew up in a town called Dronfield, on the border of Sheffield. She came to Liverpool in 2005 to study medicine and is currently part way through her degree, having completed 4 out of 5 years, she is taking a year out of studies to work for the church.
In her spare time she enjoy drinking Pepsi Max, playing articulate and watching 90s teen dramas such as Charmed. Kuda Murinda
Kuda was born Zimbabwe and his family moved to the UK in 1999. He became a Christian in 2003 after an interesting conversation with a friend.
In 2007, during second year in university, He started attending Christ Church Liverpool.
Kuda is a man of many hobbies, enjoying watching and playing rugby, judo and other forms of self defence. He also very passionate about music and is probably the World’s biggest hip hop fanatic. Jon Deakin
Jon grew up in Sandhurst and moved to Liverpool as a student to study Sports & Exercise Science at Liverpool John Moores University in 2005.
Jon grew up going to church till he was 14yrs old but saw no point in it and gave up going. Despite this, Jon began as a Christian the summer before coming to university when He started to realise the significance Jesus had on his own life after reading a book called ‘The Life’ by J.John. During university he made some Christian friends at Christ Church and in the CU.
In the summer of 2008, Jon got married to Nicholette and they now both work together on the staff team for ChristChurch Liverpool. Tom and Naomi Askew
Tom and Naomi met at CU whilst both studying at Liverpool University. Tom is now a doctor working on the Wirral and Naomi currently works as a receptionist in a doctors surgery. From November 2007 Naomi will be changing jobs and will be the administrator for the North West Partnership.
Jon Norwood
Jon has lived in Liverpool for about six years and, despite a brief detour to Lancaster, now calls it home. He has embraced the city even to the extent of marrying a scouser, Jenni, who is a Pharmacist at Alder Hey Children's hospital. Together they live in and host a house group in the city centre, which Jon also leads. Jon likes to think of himself as interested in most things, but obsessive about nothing (apart from the Gospel), though some may disagree when he gets onto the subjects of coffee or Somerset, where he grew up.
Gary Wallis
![]() Gary is originally from Nottingham but moved to Liverpool about 5 years ago to study at the university. After graduating he spent a year working with UCCF and the Christian Unions in Liverpool and now works in IT for an Engineering company. He has been at Christ Church for the last 5 years and began leading a house group a few months ago. He enjoys listening to and playing music as well as watching and playing almost any sport. He is a fan of the true Mighty Reds, Nottingham Forest. Peter Eustance
Originally from the Wirral Peter spent 16 years in Birmingham before coming home back to Liverpool 4 years ago. Peter works as a surveyor and director for an international property consultants, a job he enjoys and which gets him out and about from the office and mixing with a wide variety of people.
As a passionate Liverpool FC supporter Peter was pleased to move back to Liverpool but was even more pleased to find Christ Church which has become home over the last 3 and a half years.
He says, “It's a place where I've been able to serve, where the teaching stretches me and most of all is a place where I've found real Christian love and acceptance and is a true family to me. I find that leading House Group is a good challenge and also a place to unpack the bible to see how we as a group of Christians can apply the word to our daily lives."
Simon Gilliand
Simon arrived in Liverpool in 2001 where he studied Civil Engineering at Liverpool University for 4 years. Since graduating he has spent one year working for Christ Church as a Ministry Trainee and now works as a Civil Engineer where he saves the country on a regular basis by stopping it from flooding as much as it would like to. When not working Simon likes to do other fun stuff the more energetic the better! Which is good because as well as being a house group leader Simon organises football in the park in the summer months.
Sarah Oliver
Occupation: Infectious Diseases Nurse. Most obsessive trait: cleaning my teeth. Favourite place: anywhere with a frisbee. Favourite super hero: Banana Man. Cartoon character most like to be: Batfink. Favourite 'Friends' character: Chandler. Favourite shoes: my smelly DCs. Most repeated phrase: "To be honest..." Favourite thing about Christ Church: the food!
Nick and Julia Radcliffe
Nick and Julia met as students in Liverpool. Nick is originally from Lancaster and works as a GP in Liverpool. Julia used to be a part-time staff nurse, but now works as a full-time mum looking after their daughter, Emily.
Rob Angus
Rob was born in Glasgow and brought up in Largs in Ayrshire. He is a consultant respiratory physician at University Hospital Aintree. Rob coordinates Christ Church’s Christianity Explored programme – a short course designed to introduce people to what Christians believe about Jesus.
