Staff and Leadership News from Christ Church Liverpool

At a members’ meeting on Sunday we appointed Maurice McCracken, currently working as UCCF National Co-Ordinator for the Relay programme to be full-time elder at Christ Church with effect from 1st September 2010. Although we’re disappointed to have to wait till then to prise Maurice away from UCCF we also really appreciate the valuable ministry he has there and are delighted he will be an elder in his spare time over the next 15 months.

Sunday was also a slightly sad day as we said goodbye to Steve Palframan and Jeremy Clark as elders at Christ Church as they take up their new posts at Aigburth Community Church – another step towards its independence which is wonderful to see.

Theology Breakfast – justification by faith

On the 18th October we’re have the first of what we’re calling ‘Theology Breakfasts’.  Meeting in the church office at 9.00am for breakfast starting at 9.30am we’ll be spending a couple of hours working through a bible doctrine. We’re starting off with ‘Justification by Faith’.  Looking at what Paul meant by the term and what it means for our standing before God.  If you’d like to come along it would be great to see you and if you’ve got a moment to do some reading beforehand you might want to check out these links and read Romans 1-3!Martin Luther   Tom Wright

Interview with Jules Port

During our Living Room meeting on Sunday we got the chance to catch up with Jules, a missionary working in Argentina who Christ Church support. Have a listen and pray for her.

Check it out – new transcripts available!

Seven new transcripts have been added to the website from our recent series at Christ Church. Transcripts from the John 14, John 15 and John 21 sermons are online, as well as the handouts from all three ‘Real Family’ Living Room sessions, and the handout for the first ‘Demolition Men’ session.

Download them via the ‘Resources’ section of the website and choose ‘Sermon Transcripts’.

Sorry – delay in uploading talks!

Sorry for the delay in getting this Sunday’s (6th July) talks online – it’s very much on the agenda and they’ll be posted as soon as possible. Also on the agenda for uploading is the talk from the Training Field evangelistic meeting ‘Is It Ok To Fail?’ from 25th May! So please accept our apologies for the delay in these talks, and do be assured that they’ll be online as soon as possible!
