Elder – David Wilkinson

David has been coming along to Christ Church since 2008 when he moved to Liverpool with his wife Angela.   They have two daughters Rebekah and Hannah and together lead and host the East Connect group in their home.  Over the years David has made good friends with the M62  as he makes the commute to Manchester each day to work as a paediatric surgeon – but loves returning home to Liverpool and his family both home and at church.
David grew up in a Christian family but it wasn’t really until he moved away from home to study in Sheffield in the late 1990’s that he began to really understand that being a Christian isn’t about following rules – what you do or don’t do. but instead is about the wonder of what God has done for us and how that then shapes the way we live in response to Him.
Having previously dreamt of a call up to the England cricket squad David has had to accept this probably isn’t going to happen.  Now when he gets a spare moment he enjoys getting stuck into a good book or getting out and being reminded of the glory of creation from the top of a mountain.
